Forex market opening and closing time in Pakistan
This tool’s weekly reference opens on Monday at 02:00 PKT while New York uses EDT, or 03:00 PKT while New York uses EST. It closes at the corresponding time on Saturday: 02:00 during EDT or 03:00 during EST. These boundaries are Sunday 17:00 and Friday 17:00 in New York.
For example, the week opens on Monday, 2 November 2026 at 03:00 PKT and closes on Saturday, 7 November at 03:00 PKT. The early Saturday hours belong to Friday’s New York session. Select Friday as the opening date, or Saturday to inspect the separately labelled carryover. There is no new Saturday opening in this model.
London and New York session times in Pakistan
London session in PKT
London’s 08:00–17:00 session is 12:00–21:00 PKT during British Summer Time (BST) and 13:00–22:00 PKT during Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Pakistan’s clock stays at UTC+05:00 in the supported range, but London’s seasonal change moves the local session by an hour.
New York session in PKT
New York’s 08:00–17:00 session is 17:00–02:00 the next day in PKT during Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), or 18:00–03:00 the next day during Eastern Standard Time (EST). The +1 day label and the dated close make the overnight interval explicit.
London–New York overlap: dated PKT examples
On 21 October 2026, the overlap is 17:00–21:00 PKT. On 28 October, after the UK clock change but before the US change, it is 17:00–22:00 PKT. On 4 November, with both cities on standard time, it is 18:00–22:00 PKT.
The UK returns to GMT on 25 October 2026; New York returns to EST on 1 November. This is why one fixed overlap time cannot describe the whole year. The schedule calculates the intersection for your chosen local date.
Sydney and Tokyo session times in Pakistan
Sydney’s 08:00–17:00 session is 02:00–11:00 PKT during Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT), or 03:00–12:00 PKT during Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), subject to the weekly boundary. Tokyo’s 09:00–18:00 local session is 05:00–14:00 PKT.
Australian clock changes occur in a different season from those in London and New York. Choose the actual date instead of applying one “summer schedule” to every session.
Convert to PKT without an ambiguous time-zone name
Use Pakistan or Asia/Karachi for the target zone. PKT means Pakistan Standard Time here; the abbreviation PST can also refer to Pacific Standard Time, so a city or IANA zone is clearer. Why does the Pakistan table show a New York session on Saturday?
Friday’s session closes after midnight in Pakistan. On Saturday, those remaining hours appear as Previous day’s session, with the original Friday opening and the Saturday closing date. Open now appears only while that specific interval is active today.
Does Pakistan use daylight saving time?
Asia/Karachi stays at UTC+05:00 throughout the supported 2020–2035 range. Foreign session hours can still change in PKT because London, New York and Sydney apply their own seasonal clock rules.
