Reading dates and session limits
Times use the 24-hour clock in Europe/London. Opening times refer to the selected local date. +1 day means the session closes on the next calendar day. Early hours from a previous session appear separately, with both actual dates. “Open now” appears only after synchronisation, for today in the selected zone. Time-zone rules for each date are applied, including daylight saving where used. This weekly session model excludes public holidays and broker maintenance; it is not a live broker-status feed.

EST, EDT, CST and schedule limits
New York follows Eastern Time: EST in winter and EDT in summer. Select New York for date-aware conversions. Search “EST” or “EDT” to choose an explicitly fixed offset instead. “CST” is ambiguous: choose Chicago for US Central Time or Shanghai for China Standard Time.
The table uses regional Forex hours, not a stock-exchange calendar or a live trading-status feed. London–New York overlap is the intersection of these session windows; it does not measure liquidity or predict returns. Broker holidays, maintenance and exact trading minutes can differ.
Time-zone calculations use IANA release 2026e, shared by the page and the converter. Dates from 2020 to 2035 are supported; future rules may change.

London and New York session times in the UK
London session: 08:00–17:00 UK time
The London Forex session in this model follows 08:00–17:00 on business days in London. Those local clock times stay the same in GMT and BST; their UTC equivalents change. This is a Forex session convention, not the London Stock Exchange trading calendar.
New York session: watch the gap between clock-change dates
New York’s 08:00–17:00 session is normally 13:00–22:00 UK time when both cities use standard time or both use summer time. During the weeks when New York uses EDT but London uses GMT, it shifts to 12:00–21:00 UK time. A fixed five-hour difference is therefore not valid for every date.
London–New York overlap through the clock changes
On 21 October 2026, the overlap is 13:00–17:00 BST. On 28 October, it is 12:00–17:00 GMT. On 4 November, it returns to 13:00–17:00 GMT. The middle example lasts five hours because London has changed its clocks and New York has not.
In 2026, UK clocks go back on 25 October and New York clocks go back on 1 November. In spring, New York changes on 8 March and the UK on 29 March. The date-aware schedule handles these differences; overlap is simply the intersection of modelled sessions, not a trading recommendation.
Sunday opening and Friday closing in UK time
The reference week runs from Sunday 17:00 to Friday 17:00 in New York. In UK time, that is usually Sunday 22:00 to Friday 22:00. During the GMT/EDT mismatch it is Sunday 21:00 to Friday 21:00.
For example, the week opens on Sunday, 25 October 2026 at 21:00 GMT and closes on Friday, 30 October at 21:00 GMT. The next week opens on Sunday, 1 November at 22:00 GMT and closes on Friday, 6 November at 22:00 GMT. Saturday is closed in this weekly model; Sunday’s late opening does not mean that all four regional sessions are open.
Sydney and Tokyo sessions on a UK calendar
Tokyo’s 09:00–18:00 local session is 00:00–09:00 GMT or 01:00–10:00 BST. Sydney crosses the UK midnight: the session opening on 21 October 2026 is 22:00 BST to 07:00 BST on 22 October; the opening on 28 October is 21:00 GMT to 06:00 GMT on 29 October.
Sydney can also be 23:00–08:00 the next day when the UK uses BST and Sydney uses AEST, as on 17 June 2026. Its Sunday opening may be clipped by the New York weekly boundary. Read both dates in the table: Previous day’s session identifies an overnight interval already underway, rather than a new opening.
GMT, BST and a repeated 01:30
UK time here means Europe/London, covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is GMT (UTC+00:00) in winter and BST (UTC+01:00) in summer. Select London for the target when converting New York time; a fixed UTC or GMT target will not move to BST.
To convert a UK clock time outwards, Swap the zones, then enter the UK date and time. On 25 October 2026, 01:30 occurs twice: first in BST, then in GMT. Choose the intended occurrence using its UTC offset. On 29 March 2026, 01:30 does not exist in London and must be replaced with a valid time. Swap and Copy link retain the exact instant, including the second occurrence.
How this UK timetable is calculated
The table uses a 24-hour clock and the opening date in Europe/London. Its sessions are Sydney 08:00–17:00, Tokyo 09:00–18:00, London 08:00–17:00 and New York 08:00–17:00 on business days in each centre, limited to the New York Forex week. Dated time-zone rules cover 2020–2035; future rules may change.
The weekly status stays on the current moment while the date selector changes the table. The converter below the schedule is independent. These are modelled global Forex hours, without public holidays, broker maintenance or instrument-specific minutes. The page does not provide a broker’s live status, an exchange calendar or a legal eligibility check.
UK Forex hours: frequently asked questions
What time does Forex open on Sunday in the UK?
Usually 22:00 UK time in this model, but 21:00 when London is on GMT and New York is on EDT. The weekly status gives the next opening or closing boundary with its full date and UTC offset. Always check the date around the March and autumn clock changes.
Are UK Forex market hours always shown in GMT?
No. Europe/London follows GMT in winter and BST in summer. The schedule and converter use the selected date’s rule, and the UTC offset is visible beside dated times. Choose fixed UTC only if your source actually specifies a fixed zero offset.
Why does the New York session start at 12:00 instead of 13:00?
The US and UK change clocks on different dates. While New York uses EDT and London still uses, or has returned to, GMT, the local time difference is four hours. New York’s 08:00 session opening is then 12:00 in the UK.
Is the Forex market open on Saturday in the UK?
The New York weekly model is closed throughout Saturday in UK time. Friday’s final boundary is 22:00 UK time normally, or 21:00 during the GMT/EDT mismatch. Broker or instrument exceptions are not included.
How do I share the second occurrence of a repeated UK time?
Set London as From, enter the autumn clock-change date and repeated time, then select the second occurrence by its offset. Copy link stores the exact moment and both zones on this UK page, so reopening it does not silently select the first occurrence.
