Forex Spread Calculator

Estimate spread and commission costs for a forex setup, compare eligible broker accounts, and review live, typical, and wide-spread scenarios.

Verified MT5 cost dataConnecting to cost data…

Your trade

Set one FX trade scenario. Every account is compared in the same currency and at the same size.

Suggested pairs can be checked against the public monitored universe.

Trade size

Contract size is unavailable for this account; units are not estimated.

A single currency keeps broker costs comparable. Unsupported conversions are shown honestly.

Rank by

The 24-hour median; requires at least 75% data coverage.

Manual Bid / Ask calculator

Use a quote from any broker. The calculation runs locally; enter a verified pip value in the selected currency when it cannot be derived from current data.

Advanced pip size and point

This calculator estimates spread and commission for the instrument, trade size, display currency, and market-data basis you select. It shows every comparable result in that result currency.

The result is a scenario estimate, not a quoted execution price. Actual cost can differ because spreads, conversion rates, commissions, slippage, and account conditions can change.

Forex spread cost formula

Spread price = Ask − Bid

Spread pips = Spread price ÷ pip size

Spread cost = Spread pips × pip value per lot × lots

All-in cost = spread cost + verified round-turn commission

Illustrative spread-cost example

Illustrative example only: if Ask is 1.1002 and Bid is 1.1000, the spread price is 0.0002. With a pip size of 0.0001, that is 2 pips. If the verified pip value is $10 per lot, a 0.10-lot trade has an estimated spread cost of 2 × $10 × 0.10 = $2 before commission. These figures are assumptions, not live broker data.

Live, Typical 24h, and P95

Live uses the latest eligible fresh quote. Typical 24h uses the historical p50 when its coverage check passes. P95 is a higher-spread historical percentile and has its own coverage check. These bases describe observed data; they do not predict an execution price.

How the spread estimate is calculated

For each eligible account, the tool converts the selected spread into money for the chosen volume, adds the configured commission when enabled, and converts the total into the selected display currency when a supported fresh rate is available.

Live, Typical 24h, and P95 are separate data bases. An account is ranked only when the selected basis has sufficient comparable data and the required commission and currency-conversion inputs are available.

Rows are ordered by estimated total cost for the current setup. Savings are compared with the median eligible account, so each eligible account row contributes to that median. This is not a general broker rating or recommendation.

Data and use limitations

Broker symbols, contract specifications, commission schedules, and country availability can vary by entity and account. Verify current terms in the broker platform before trading.
This educational comparison does not include every possible execution cost and is not personal financial advice.

Frequently asked questions

What costs does the calculator include?

It includes the money value of the selected spread and, when enabled and available, the configured commission. Other costs such as slippage, financing, taxes, and account-specific fees are outside this estimate.

What is the difference between Live, Typical 24h, and P95?

Live reflects the latest eligible fresh observation. Typical 24h uses the historical p50, while P95 is a higher-spread historical percentile. Their coverage requirements are checked separately.

Why can an account be excluded from ranking?

A row can be unrankable when required spread, commission, conversion, freshness, approval, or country-availability data is missing or does not meet the comparison rules.

Does the first row identify the cheapest broker?

No. It identifies the lowest eligible estimate for the exact inputs and data basis currently selected. A different symbol, volume, account, currency, or market moment can change the order.
