How to read this estimate
This is an estimate from the latest available broker snapshot, not a guaranteed future charge, credit or execution amount.
The calculator counts UTC date-only rollover events in the half-open range [open date, close date); a broker's server timezone and holiday rules may differ.
Stale, demo, disabled, raw-only and non-normalizable rows are shown separately and never enter the numeric ranking. An MT5 ‘swap disabled’ value does not universally mean fee-free holding; separate administrative fees or eligibility rules may apply.
Open the full swap-rates tableThis calculator estimates overnight financing for the instrument, direction, trade size, display currency, and UTC date range you select. A positive result means an estimated amount received; a negative result means an estimated amount paid.
The result is an estimate based on the available swap specification and rollover schedule. Brokers can change rates, symbols, multipliers, and account conditions without matching the timing of this dataset.
Forex swap formula
Event cash flow = normalized swap per lot × lots × broker weekday multiplier
Period swap = sum of all rollover events
A positive total is an estimated amount received; a negative total is an estimated amount paid.
Illustrative multi-night example
Illustrative example only: assume a normalized swap of −$1.20 per lot, a 0.50-lot position, and event multipliers of 1×, 3×, and 1×. The event estimates are −$0.60, −$1.80, and −$0.60, so the period estimate is −$3.00. These assumed values are not a forecast or a broker quote.
How a 3× rollover is applied
The calculator reads the weekday multiplier for the specific broker account and instrument. A 3× event applies that account’s current 3× multiplier once in the selected UTC range; it is not assumed to fall on the same weekday for every broker or instrument.
How the swap estimate is calculated
The tool treats the selected interval as start date inclusive and end date exclusive. For each UTC rollover date, it applies that account’s published weekday multiplier to the selected long or short swap rate and volume.
Where required, the result is normalized into the selected display currency only when the contract specification and a supported fresh conversion rate are available. No rollover weekday is hard-coded across brokers.
Eligible estimates are ordered by outcome for the current setup: amounts received first, then zero, then smaller amounts paid. This is a calculation order, not a general broker recommendation.
Data and use limitations
Swap rates and rollover rules can vary by broker entity, instrument, account type, holidays, and market conditions. Verify the current specification and server rollover policy in the broker platform.
The calculator supports a limited date range and uses UTC date boundaries for consistency. It is educational information, not a promise of a future credit or charge and not personal financial advice.
Frequently asked questions
What does “you pay” or “you receive” mean?
It is the direction of the estimated cumulative swap for the selected scenario. The final broker posting can differ because rates and rollover conditions can change.
How are triple-swap days handled?
The calculator uses the weekday multiplier published for each eligible account. It does not assume that the same weekday applies to every broker or instrument.
Why can an account be excluded from ranking?
A row can be unrankable when the swap rate, multiplier, contract specification, conversion rate, freshness, approval, or country-availability data needed for a comparable estimate is unavailable.
Is a positive swap guaranteed to be credited?
No. It is an estimate from the current dataset. The broker can update the rate or apply account-specific and rollover conditions before the position is financed.
